Had my first visit today with Bayou City Breastfeeding and it went very well. Mary was very patient and helpful. She gave me a lot of tips and suggestions on how to help my baby and I. Definitely looking forward to our next visit.
Going to this appointment was very eye-opening! It is my first baby and she is eating and gaining weight fine, but I had noticed some signs over the past two weeks that were a little concerning to me and I wanted to learn more. The nurse was super informative, educated me on a ton of things I had never thought about in relation to breastfeeding position, latch, oral exercises, etc. I am definitely glad I went and will be following up soon. These appointments are for anyone and you can learn so much even if you think everything is going well so far!
Wow! If you are trying to find a place that will take the time to talk to you and help you with your breastfeeding needs, this is it. My consult was 1 hour 20 min, and our lactation specialist was helpful and had such great information and tips. She helped me latch my baby and gave me great feedback on how to do it, which is what I’m struggling with. She evaluated my baby as well and gave us exercises to do at home to help with the lip and tongue ties. She scheduled a follow up visit to see our progress in the next week. All in all, so grateful to have this resource. Highly recommend it! And you can text them to communicate! Hello, this is so helpful for parents, instead of waiting on hold for 20 min to make an appointment.

Tiphany was amazing. She listened to my concerns, and was certain to address each one, including my skepticism about using bodywork to help address tongue and lips tie issues. Her instructions really helped the pain issues I was having and I believe following her advice about the ties also made a difference. I can't recommend her enough. I also think it's really great how they take insurance! We met at her office for one visit and she came to my home for another, demonstrating flexibility to meet a mother's needs.
Kathy was great from my prenatal lactation visit through the first couple months of birth with my baby. She was so informative and helped navigate through some breastfeeding issues I was having. I highly recommend BCBLC.
