I first sought out Bayou City Breastfeeding when I developed severe pain after weening my daughter off of shields. I had been told that she had a tongue tie and I actually made an appointment with a dentist to have it released, but a friend recommended that I call Bayou City Breastfeeding first. I hesitantly cancelled our appointment with the dentist and had my first appointment with Suzanne. She immediately knew what was causing the pain (to my surprise, it wasn’t even the tie!) and helped me find relief at our very first visit. Suzanne was so knowledgeable and informative. I knew right away that my husband and I made the right decision by seeing her first. She not only concerned herself with my baby’s weight gain and well-being, but also my own well-being.

She confirmed that my daughter did have a tongue tie and gave my husband and I an incredible amount of support, information, and preparation leading up to the procedure to have the tie released. 4 weeks later, she’s still supporting us and guiding us through the healing process. Knowing what I know now, I truly couldn’t imagine having gone through this without Suzanne (and Tessa and Ally ❤️).

It’s also worth mentioning that they work really hard to make sure they utilize any and all insurance benefits you might have. They have always thoughtfully and efficiently scheduled our appointments to coincide with bodywork, all to maximize our insurance benefits.

The team at Bayou City Breastfeeding is more than lactation consultants. Their expertise and love for what they do shows in every interaction I’ve had. I’m so thankful we found them and couldn’t possibly recommend them more highly!

Tessa is a wealth of information and practical instruction. She provides evidenced based information while encouraging the mother's innate intuition. When 1st met with Tessa for a prenatal visit the week of our baby's due date, which set us up for success. Afterwards, we met with Tessa at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months (rough estimates). I cannot emphasize how helpful she is, especially as a first time mom & breastfeeder. If you're on the fence, just do it.

Claire is wonderful! She is easy to talk to and works well with my chiropractor, Dr.Jade. She has helped me and my son immensely on our breastfeeding journey.

Brandy is absolutely amazing. My first breastfeeding experience did not go as planned. This experience has been much better, and much less stressful!

Dr. Chelsea (bodywork) is absolutely incredible and so gentle with the babies! My daughter LOVES getting adjusted by her and seems very relaxed after each adjustment (even if she came in with a fussy mood). Dr. Chelsea has been able to provide several helpful exercises to do throughout the week as well as suggestions for how to make tummy time more engaging. We are extremely grateful for Dr. Chelsea and the support she has given us! We could not recommend her bodywork services enough!

Kathy (lactation) has been an enormous blessing to us and our breastfeeding journey. She has a wealth of knowledge from her many years of experience in various capacities. She provides so many new ideas and resources to support our breastfeeding goals. It is obvious Kathy loves what she does and loves helping families thrive!

i had such a wonderful experience with bayou city. as a third time mama, i was still in need of breastfeeding advice. after working through my baby’s oral ties, and food sensitivities, we were still having issues with breastfeeding. i received some great tips and advice, that i hadn’t tried prior. anyone could benefit from seeing their Lcs.

So extremely happy with the care, bedside manners, and patience with Karen Swan! I was hesitant when I first went because breastfeeding is an entire journey on its own. But after my 1st visit, I was so extremely happy and relieved I had someone who listened and helped me with this journey! I went in feeling 100% defeated (and exhausted) and walked out feeling confident and empowered. Only thing I would have done differently was not waited so long to make and appointment! LOVE THIS PLACE!!! LOVE Karen!
