Common questions

San Antonio FAQ

Are you the same practice as Bayou City Breastfeeding in Houston?
Yes. Our San Antonio office is part of the Bayou City Breastfeeding family of clinics, with the same IBCLC standards, same insurance partners, same intake process. The local San Antonio team is dedicated to this market and uses a local 210 number for scheduling.
Do you take walk-ins?
No. All visits are by appointment. Start with the secure intake form and we’ll match you with the right visit type.
Do you offer home visits in San Antonio?
Yes. Our San Antonio IBCLCs travel to homes across San Antonio, Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, Boerne, New Braunfels, Helotes, and surrounding areas. Home visits have a travel fee and are subject to limited availability.
How fast can I get an appointment?
Most families are scheduled within 3–5 business days. Same-day benefits verification when you submit your intake before 3 PM on a weekday. Virtual triage visits are often available within 24–72 hours for urgent feeding concerns.
Do you do tongue tie evaluations in San Antonio?
Yes. Full tongue, lip, and buccal tie assessments are part of our standard consultation. If release is indicated, we coordinate with trusted pediatric dentists and ENTs in San Antonio, then support you with post-release feeding care.
Do I need to wait for my insurance to be verified before booking my appointment?

No. You can book your appointment before your insurance is verified. As long as you submit your insurance information at least 1–2 business days (Monday through Friday) before your appointment, our team will have enough time to verify your coverage prior to your visit. If you are submitting the day before your scheduled visit, please submit by 3 PM so we have time to verify.

If we discover that your plan is not covered or has unusual restrictions, we will notify you by email and text message. If you decide to cancel your appointment due to lack of coverage, we will waive the cancellation fee as long as you request cancellation on the same day we notify you.
