Erica was FANTASTIC. Like, 5 star service for sure. She was personable, knowledgeable, and just all around wonderful. Will definitely call her again when/if I need help.

The office .... well ... they’re a hot mess. Booked my appointment, removed it from the calendars, booked it again, lost it again, booked it a 3rd time and that finally stuck. Then they asked me to fill out intake paperwork twice. I paid for the home visit, and they tried to run my card a second time because they somehow couldn’t see that the charge had been processed, applied to my account, and a receipt had been auto-emailed to me? Thankfully my bank caught it as a suspicious charge and wouldn’t let them run it a second time more than a week after the first charge was applied and cleared.

Don’t let the train wreck admin situation deter you - again - the visit with Erica was amazing and so very helpful. Just watch the office carefully and make sure you communicate well.
Response from the owner:Jennifer, I am so sorry for all the confusion and difficulty with the scheduling and billing portion, and am glad that you found the visit with Erica to be helpful. I think that the admin problems occurred for a couple of reasons, and I want to explain -- but understand this is not intended to be an excuse. We have recently brought on two new admins, and they are still learning the systems. The original appointment was created on the wrong day, and once the admin realized that error, instead of moving the appointment, she created a new appointment for you on the correct date. This is why you got two sets of forms, and also why we tried to bill you twice. I have discussed this with the Admin team to try to prevent it from happening in the future. One of the things we try to do is to give opportunities to stay at home moms to work on our admin team. This is one of the core principles of our organization -- giving opportunties to moms who wouldn't otherwise be able to work. Every member of our admin team works from home and has very young children. This, unfortunately, does result sometimes in us making mistakes that probably wouldn't have happened if we outsourced our administration/billing/scheduling to a third-party company. But each member of our admin team is being given the opportunity to learn skills that they can then take into the workforce once their children are older. So sometimes, when you call us, you may hear a crying baby (or toddlers) in the background, and things are sometimes chaotic. But giving these women this opportunity that they would not otherwise have is too important to us to give up. Again, we are sorry about the confusion and errors that were made with scheduling/billing your appointment, and please know that we appreciate your feedback and will try to do better in the future. Please reach out to me directly, if you have any other concerns or would like to discuss this in more detail. Suzanne Juel, IBCLC RLC
Without the guidance of Suzanne and her expertise, I dont think breastfeeding would have lasted long for us at all. She always knows exactly what is needed to get us headed on the best track for success. All the other lactation consultants we have seen here have been pretty great also as well as the chiropractor Dr. Chelsea! I highly recommend taking advantage of their services if you are expecting or have a little one!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your kind words, Christine! We're thrilled to hear that Suzanne and our team could provide the support you needed on your breastfeeding journey. It's always our goal to set families up for success. Your recommendation means the world to us! 💛 We are so happy to have you in the Bayou City Breastfeeding family!
Melissa Gonzalez / Bayou City and Alamo City changed my entire breastfeeding experience. I left the hospital mixing formula and my milk because I didn't have enough, but after a month it got worse since I was bleeding and my nipple was blocked. Melissa consulted me and discovered that my son had a tight tongue. She also gave me techniques to increase my production. I arrived with little hope and discouraged. And in less than a month She managed to go to exclusive breast milk in addition to have a saving bank. It's not just the position; there are many things around it that I didn't imagine would help or affect it. I really recommend going for counseling, it's worth it. With my first child I didn't make it more than 2 and a half months, now I've been at 4 and a half months, I continue breastfeeding and have saved up for another month and a half. I wouldn't be more happy with her help.
Muchas gracias por apoyarme en tecnica y emocionalmente.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much, Marlen, for sharing your incredible journey and kind words about Melissa at Alamo City Breastfeeding. Your story is a powerful reminder of how the right support can completely transform a breastfeeding experience. Melissa’s expertise in identifying your baby’s tongue tie and helping you work through a blocked milk ducts and bleeding shows just how important it is to have knowledgeable, compassionate guidance. Tongue ties can often go undiagnosed and lead to painful latching and low milk transfer, so it’s amazing that Melissa was able to catch that and help you address it early on. We’re also thrilled to hear that her techniques helped you not only increase your milk production but also build a breastmilk saving bank—what a huge accomplishment! And tackling clogged ducts along the way is no small feat either. Your progress from supplementing with formula to exclusively breastfeeding and even storing extra milk is truly inspiring. Thank you again for trusting Melissa and for encouraging others to seek support. Your story will give hope to so many parents who may be struggling. ¡Gracias por compartir tu experiencia y por tus palabras tan sinceras!
I am beyond grateful to have found this place. To have found Priscilla Jackson was a huge blessing in my nursing journey. If it were not for everything I learned from her, I honestly might have not been able to continue to breastfeed my baby. She taught me so much on how to breastfeed, how to help my baby with her latch, and even how to make sure that I did not run out of milk. When I came to her, I am pretty certain I was about to dry out, but because of everything she taught us she saved both my baby and I from losing such a wonderful connection. Today I can proudly say my baby is exclusively breastfed, after a lot of hard work, and all the tools that were provided to us as parents through Bayou City. I already recommended the place to all pregnant women I know. 🤭 A HUGE THANK YOU TO PRISCILLA. 🥹🫶🏼
Response from the owner:Hi Carol! Your words moved us deeply — thank you for sharing such a powerful reflection on your journey. We are beyond honored that Priscilla could be the guiding light you needed during such a vulnerable and transformative time. Her dedication to empowering families with knowledge, compassion, and unwavering support is exactly what we strive for at Bayou City Breastfeeding. To hear that your baby is now exclusively breastfed — after all the hard work, learning, and love you poured into this journey — is a testament to your strength and commitment as a mother. We’re so proud to have played a part in preserving that precious connection between you and your little one. Thank you for spreading the word to other moms-to-be. Your voice and experience are a gift to the community, and we’re grateful to be part of your story. With every drop of care, The Bayou City Breastfeeding Team

Bayou City Breastfeeding, Mary in particular, have been incredible. I called during a time of desperation, with a week old baby and no clue how hard breastfeeding was going to be. Suzanne answered my call on a Friday, listened to me and gave me tips on the phone and set me up with an appointment with Mary the next day. Since then, our breastfeeding journey has made a 180. Mary not only is incredibly compassionate and kind, she is extremely knowledgeable. She made us feel comfortable, informed and empowered. She has become such an integral part of our breastfeeding journey, and I credit so much our success (and sanity) to her. She started as a lactation consultant, but now is a dear friend. They say it takes a village, and I am so glad that Bayou City Breastfeeding is part of ours.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for the kind review! And we are so happy to have been able to help!
Tiphany was absolutely wonderful today. She is so knowledgeable in all things breastfeeding and helped me and my little guy tremendously. I lost faith in the lactation consultants at the hospital where I delivered and Tiphany completely changed my mind. It is apparent when talking to her that she knows her stuff and truly has a passion for her job. I highly, highly recommend her and Bayou City Breastfeeding!!
Response from the owner:Thank you for the kind review!
We’ve been working with Megan to help our little guy (and me) have a better nursing experience. She has been nothing short of wonderful! Megan is very patient, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She has expertly answered all of our questions, supported us as issues arise, and been instrumental in guiding us through his tongue tie journey. We’re really grateful to have the opportunity to work with her and couldn’t recommend strongly enough. If you’re on the fence about working with a consultant—do it!
Response from the owner:Hi Meghan! Thank you for your review!!!
