Dana at Bayou City Breastfeeding is the best! My baby girl and I were nursing well until she was around 7 weeks old and things seemed to unravel. I’ve had several appointments with Dana now and each time she is a calming and encouraging voice. Each time I’m learning how I can help make things easier for my child’s nursing journey. I have recommended Dana to other friends of mine who may need a lactation consultant in the future. Dana absolutely saved me in a very difficult time and she’s the reason I didn’t give up on nursing when things were hard! Jennifer Robert at Bayou City Breastfeeding has been amazing! I truly do not believe I would have had such a successful/enjoyable breastfeeding experience without her. I’ve seen her since week 1 of my son being born and now I’m 3 months in and doing great/ loving exclusively breastfeeding. Highly recommend!

WORTH IT. Time, money, everything. Book the appointment.

Being in the newborn trenches for a third time and two successful prior breastfeeding experiences, I debated on scheduling an appointment. My primary concern was over-active letdown and pump fitting. Wasn’t sure I’d learn much more than I already knew or could google. Incorrect. I saw Kathy Lenert, an absolute wealth of information. I was impressed at her ability to teach, be hands on, and remember all of my needs. Was given extensive after-visit summary, which I appreciated. Truly wish I had seen her with all my kids.

Practical tips: Bring a helper and TAKE NOTES. I learned so so much. Parking is easy. Elevator is a bit small if you have a monster (large) stroller - but should fit. Will not fit more than two people and a stroller though.

I cannot express how wonderful of an experience I had with Bayou City Breastfeeding and my lactation consultant, Mary. I met with Mary prior to having my daughter and met with her regularly over the first 4 months since she was born. We tackled together a tongue and lip tie prior to and post-surgery, along with latching and supply issues. Mary is kind and always made me feel extremely comfortable at our visits. She spent so much time with us asking all the necessary questions, showing and suggesting different techniques to use and seeing how much my daughter was being fed. We miss seeing her and thank her so much for all of the help she provided to us.

We had such amazing support with the team at Bayou! They helped us with our two babies who had tongue ties and I learned how to do the stretches and nurse them effectively. My babies are healthy and growing so well because of their experience and expertise! Even when we moved to a different state, we still reached out to them and they gave such valuable virtual help! Mary was an amazing IBCLC. She spent hours listening, working with us, and consulting different resources to get our 4.5lb emergency C-section baby from his feeding tube, through a tie release procedure to a happy little guy who nursed until he was almost 2. She stayed in touch with us periodically even after we stopped seeing her regularly. Just a few months ago after guiding me through some resources on breastfeeding during IVF for our next pregnancy I sent her the following: Just wanted to report in and thank you for the incredible work you did to save Gavin's breastfeeding journey. I was extremely happy with the experience I had with Ali with Bayou City Breastfeeding! She came to my home in Montgomery, TX to evaluate my 2 week old baby and me. I was having difficulties with breastfeeding, and Ali was able to identify my baby’s issue almost immediately. She helped us come up with a plan to help with the issue, helped me navigate my breast pump, and gave us tips to make our feeding experience as good as possible. Ali was so sweet and made us feel very comfortable- not to mention, very knowledgeable! The communication from start to finish with all the staff was also great! Highly recommend!

My breastfeeding journey would have been over a hundred times by now if it weren’t for Suzanne and Bayou city breastfeeding. The combination of science backed facts and emotional encouragement has given me the ability to make many educated decisions for me and my baby girl. With my first child, my breastfeeding journey was terrible due to edema, low milk supply, and not so good advice from the hospital and lactation consultant. For my second child, I promised myself to be more prepared and that is how I found this practice. I was able to breastfeed my second baby and have some spare milk on the freezer. My only regret is not reaching out to Suzanne the first time around. I keep thinking how things would have been different if she had been my lactation consultant with my first child. The team here is amazing. Please reach out, even if you think it is already too late, they truly keep up and set personalized goals.
