We found Bayou City Breastfeeding through a friends recommendation. We used The Lactation Network website and found that their services were completely covered under our insurance (BCBS).

Kristin, Tessa, Dr. Tyree and the entire team at Bayou City Breastfeeding- Jones road were so supportive and welcoming. They immediately make you feel comfortable and at ease, which is important with something as intimate as breastfeeding. They offer gentle guidance and suggestions without being judgmental or pushy!

They helped set us up with bodywork to address my babies head tilt and they were able to identify his lip and tongue tie! All of the staff were very understanding when I had hesitation about getting my babies ties revised and they continued to patiently provide weekly lactation support and stretches we could do at home.

When we were finally ready to have our lip/tongue tie revision they had a list of providers they recommended. I was thrilled to find an ENT covered by our insurance to do the procedure. By far the best thing was that Bayou City Breastfeeding partnered with our ENT Dr. Liu, so we had a bayou city lactation consultant on their staff present at our procedure!

I cannot recommend these amazing ladies enough! They take great pride in helping Mama’s, babies and families have the best transition from birth possible! After our wonderful experience with Bayou City Breastfeeding-Jones road, I truly believe that every baby can benefit from bodywork and seeing a lactation consultant. These ladies are some of the best in Houston!

If you go to this location, then you definitely need to work with RN Karen. She is simply the best! My family and I are full of appreciation, gratitude, and respect. If it was not for Nurse Karen, we would not have found out my son's tongue and cheek ties. I wish I could have met her earlier, but since we worked with her (my son was 5 months old), we learned a lot from her and our lives greatly improved because of her help and dedication. She is helpful, resourceful, passionate, kind, and nice. I cannot find words to tell you how awesome she is and Bayou City because they hire professional people. I recommend Bayou City and Karen to anyone.

This is our second time seeing Brandy Lightfoot at Bayou City Lactation Consulting. The booking and clerical side is very streamlined and user friendly. Their policies and pricing are very clear so you definitely know what to expect. Their office is very well kept and is a comfortable and private environment to bring your newborn to. The amount of education and help Brandy brings to the appointment is unmatched. We’ve had two different babies with two different types of feeding restrictions that she has brought new, useful and easy to understand direction in improving the feeding/ nursing sessions. She is straightforward with her recommendations and provides space for you to make the decision that best suited you, your baby and your preferences for care. I’ve never been more confident in a provider that is part of my care team for the newborn phase and beyond. Everyone should see Brandy! Her guidance provides confidence to your breastfeeding journey.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND | CONVENIENT LOCATION | KIND | SPECIFIC 1:1 CARE - Fabulous experience with Tania at BCBLC. We’ve had two appointments and the first one alone was worth every minute. Our breastfeeding experience has greatly improved from just 90 minutes of her careful evaluation and corrective suggestions. I’m a first time mom and in hindsight I realized the lactation consultants in our delivering hospital were solely focused on providing their favorite tips and tricks for common issues and never took the time to evaluate how my son and I were breastfeeding in the first place to identify what our specific problems were. Tania took one look at us and immediately adjusted our position, my hold, and soon after identified my son needed help with his muscle strength. Truly a night and day experience between the hospital and this 1:1 lactation consultation. Weighted feeds have helped us confirm how effectively he’s drawing from the breast and soothed this mama’s heart that he’s not starving, the follow up appointment showed an improvement in his intake volume as well which confirms her suggestions are working. At our first appointment she evaluated his mouth and tongue strength and reviewed how his frenotomy was healing and prescribed an exercise to ensure it grows back well, something I didn’t necessarily expect in the context of a lactation consultation but was happy to receive. We also covered simple things like accessing my flange size and addressing a pumping schedule to up my supply. Through all of this Tania was incredibly kind and gentle in her delivery — nothing was ever presented as unfixable or a failure on our part, and for that some of my anxiety was eased. Not only has all of the information, suggestions, and prescribed exercises made a difference in just a week but the follow up appointment has been just as helpful. We’ll be back again for a third appointment to ensure his neck and mouth exercises are proving to be effective with more time but I can honestly say that in 2 appointments I feel SO MUCH BETTER about our breastfeeding journey. If insurance doesn’t cover your visits I’d say even one appointment (or two if you can swing it) would absolutely be worth the money.

My whole experience with BABE was great. It was easy to get an appointment and get help. Jen was so knowledgeable and easy to work with. I’m recommending all my friends who breastfeeding reach out for help with BABE, especially for those early breastfeeding days.

I was fortunate enough to be able to breastfeed my last baby. With that came struggles and a search for guidance. And I found that at Bayou City Breastfeeding. My very first appointment was very personal and comforting. Some may think that being there for an hour is too much but when the appointment is just about you and your baby and how to streamline your breastfeeding journey, that hour has come and gone. I am very glad my doctor recommended them.

Suzanne is amazing. I always thought breastfeeding would be so natural and easy but that just wasn’t the case for me. I struggled with my first two kiddos and decided to reach out with my third baby and am so happy I did. Suzanne provided us so much helpful information and even after our appointment she was available to us to answer some questions and I greatly appreciate that. We have our second appointment with her this week. So happy I found Bayou City Breastfeeding!

Don’t know what I did without them for my first child but so thankful to have found them for my second. Melissa is amazing. Patient, understanding, caring…great with the babies and with mama. Truly a partner with you through various stages of your journey. Couldn’t recommend them more!

So grateful for Bayou city BF and especially Tiphany! My BF experience was incredibly positive, thanks in large part to the support and guidance she provided! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and encouraged me every step of the way, which has led to me BF for almost a year so far. Will take all my babies to her!
