Insurance Coverage
Most insurance plans provide coverage for lactation support through the Affordable Care Act. We are in network or can accept many plans from the following insurance companies:
- Aetna
- BCBS Anthem PPO
- BCBS UT Health Select
- BCBS Federal
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
- Cigna through Wildflower

- SANA Benefits
- Tricare East
- United Healthcare
For other insurances, we will require you to pay out of pocket for your visit, and we will either provide a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement, or we will file a courtesy claim for you and reimburse based on what your insurance plan pays. Lactation support is considered a medical expense and we accept HSA and FSA medical spending cards for our visits and travel fees. We also accept the following debit and credit cards:

Ongoing Support
Once you are part of the Bayou City Breastfeeding family, we walk alongside you for the first 2 years (or longer) of your baby's life by offering support visits weekly until breastfeeding is going well. After that, you will transition to our Nursing Well Visits that are timed between the pediatrician visits.
You also have access to our Spruce Health portal to reach out with questions or concerns.

When I called Suzanne the day my daughter was born because I was concerned she might have a tongue tie, Suzanne was quick to find someone in my area who could make a home visit...and she was able to come over that evening! When Suzanne found out I didn’t have insurance she offered to let me apply for their grant which greatly reduced the financial burden and allowed me to get the immediate help I needed to get us on the right track for breastfeeding. Mary was our lactation consultant and she has been a God-send. She is so experienced and knowledgeable about breastfeeding, lip and tongue ties and she is always so encouraging! She took her time with each appointment we had with her. I wanted to avoid giving my babe the bottle and she helped us navigate our breastfeeding journey in a way that helped us stay on the right track...getting my babe the nourishment she needed while keeping her at the breast as much as possible...all without introducing the bottle. Mary was always checking in on us between appointments through text and phone calls. Because of Mary’s incredible support my babe is very close to being weaned off the supplementation and completely exclusively breastfeeding!

I was originally resistant to schedule time with an external lactation consultant because I thought I had a pretty good grasp with breastfeeding but after a tough day I ended up making the call and I’m very glad I did. I learned so much more from them than I expected to and feel so much more prepared and knowledgeable about how to feed my baby. We covered breastfeeding latching but also lots of info about feeding and weight in general. They also taught me a lot about pumping and helped me discover my babies tongue tie and all the options about how to deal with it. Mandy was very informative and easy to work with and I am very appreciative for what we learned.

Love Mandy! Small world, she was my Labor & Delivery nurse for my firstborn. When I made an appointment to see a Lactation Consultant for my second child, I was surprised to see her! Went from my baby boy NOT being able to latch (exclusively pumping), to using a nipple shield, to direct breastfeeding and the whole process was under the guidance of Tessa. I cannot recommend bayou city breastfeeding enough! It’s been an amazing experience. All my visits were relaxing and impactful. All my questions were answered- Tessa and the other ibclc’s are too knowledgeable for their own good 🤣. Any mama looking for assistance in their breastfeeding journey should look no further!!

Jessica DeAses has been my IBCLC and she’s absolutely AMAZING! Definitely a blessing to me and my family. She’s so sweet, understanding, never makes you feel rushed, and completely relatable. First, Bayou City is great! I reached out via text on a Sunday and they responded and got me set up with an appointment the next day. Karen has been our saving grace. She has taken my very complicated case and gone above and beyond to help me find answers. If she didn’t know something she went to great lengths to find someone who did. Without her I wouldn’t be as far as I am now. This is my first birth, and she genuinely has helped me with being the best mama to my baby I can be. I think seeing someone like Karen should be a recommendation for any mom-not just those who need assistance in lactating.

I am SO thankful to have found Bayou City Breastfeeding!Dr. Chelsea (bodywork) is absolutely incredible and so gentle with the babies! My daughter LOVES getting adjusted by her and seems very relaxed after each adjustment (even if she came in with a fussy mood). Dr. Chelsea has been able to provide several helpful exercises to do throughout the week as well as suggestions for how to make tummy time more engaging. We are extremely grateful for Dr. Chelsea and the support she has given us! If not for BCB, I would have had a very different breastfeeding outcome. Breastfeeding was painful, verging on unbearable, before discovering and reversing my daughter’s oral ties. Because of the ongoing care and attention from Suzanne and other providers at BCB, our breastfeeding journey is still going strong at 14 months. I know we would not be in the same place today if BCB had not taken my goals to heart and made such a Herculean effort to see us be successful. Forever grateful for Suzanne and her team!

I first sought out Bayou City Breastfeeding when I developed severe pain after weening my daughter off of shields. I had been told that she had a tongue tie and I actually made an appointment with a dentist to have it released, but a friend recommended that I call Bayou City Breastfeeding first. I hesitantly cancelled our appointment with the dentist and had my first appointment with Suzanne. She immediately knew what was causing the pain (to my surprise, it wasn’t even the tie!) and helped me find relief at our very first visit. Suzanne was so knowledgeable and informative. I knew right away that my husband and I made the right decision by seeing her first. She not only concerned herself with my baby’s weight gain and well-being, but also my own well-being.
She confirmed that my daughter did have a tongue tie and gave my husband and I an incredible amount of support, information, and preparation leading up to the procedure to have the tie released. 4 weeks later, she’s still supporting us and guiding us through the healing process. Knowing what I know now, I truly couldn’t imagine having gone through this without Suzanne (and Tessa and Ally ❤️).
It’s also worth mentioning that they work really hard to make sure they utilize any and all insurance benefits you might have. They have always thoughtfully and efficiently scheduled our appointments to coincide with bodywork, all to maximize our insurance benefits.

I exclusively pump with my first baby and when Leo was born I decided I was going to reach out for help to make it work this time. Nicole has been amazing help during my breastfeeding journey this time around. She has been patient, and she has share her knowledge with me which has allow me to be confident. She has help me with latch and positioning and even discover a lip tie which we decided to not release but instead do body work. Nicole has been supportive in our decision and has provided me with tips and tricks to help my baby improve his latch. We have been EBF for 10 weeks now and all because of Nicole and BCB! I've never been to a lactation consult before so I didn't know what to expect. I had a great experience with Melissa! She was really friendly and informative. Very easy to get along with. The appointment with Tessa exceeded my expectations. We love Ms. Tiphany. She is very caring, knowledgeable and helpful about not only for lactation but also torticollis and tongue and lip ties. After our infant got the tongue and lip tie laser remove from our ENT dr, we got a referral to here. It was very hard to make an quick appointment with them unless you book it 2-3 weeks in advance. Luckily, Ms. Tiphany was working at the time at the chioptactor clinic where my son went for his torticollis adjustments; she was able to let the Booker know to get me in. Iam thankful that we went to her. All of her tips and advises are extremely helpful for us for the long run of raising and taking care of my child. I definitely recommend her to my friends and family or whoever struggling with babies who refuse latching or having bottle feeding troubles!

Ariel is amazing! She immediately recognized our daughter was tongue tied and helped us through the procedure and post-op. She is so kind, always listened, and thoughtfully answered our questions. Our breastfeeding journey would have ended much earlier than I wanted (clogged ducts, blebs, etc) if we hadn’t had her as such a wonderful resource. I feel much more confident about and comfortable with nursing and our path forward. I couldn’t have done it without Ariel! I cannot recommend her enough.

I found Bayou City Breastfeeding about three years ago. Suzanne helped me with my daughter to ensure my desires of breastfeeding my baby were met. She not only showed me techniques to help with her latch, she also recommended certain things I had no idea about that would help my BF journey. I’m so thankful for her help I was able to BF my daughter for 15 months before she (daughter) decided she was ready to be done. BCBF is doing things right! I was able to get an appointment quickly and easily (via text message), I was reminded multiple times about my appointment (mom brain, right?!) and the icing on the cake was the consultant themself, Melissa. Melissa is kind and warm, equally great with mom and baby, very thorough and clearly knowledgeable. I was really hesitant to come to a lactation consultant because I did not find them to be very helpful in the hospital, but this is a totally different experience.

Reaching out to Bayou City Breastfeeding was a pivotal moment early on in my breastfeeding journey! I was in so much pain that I was holding back tears every time I fed my baby and remember a point when I started to bleed during a middle of the night feed and thinking to myself “I don’t think I can continue on with this”, even though I wanted to so badly. A few days later I had an appointment with Ariel at BCB and she helped me work on latching the baby properly and identified a tongue and lip tie, which might have forever gone unnoticed if she hadn’t pointed it out as I had never even heard of this before.She was so helpful, understanding and resourceful. Understanding how to latch the baby properly took time, but that alone helped my pain SO MUCH. Once we were able to see a pediatric dentist to address the ties, everything got so much better and my baby started eating and gaining weight like a champ. I’m 6+ months into breastfeeding and don’t think I would have made it this far if I hadn’t scheduled that first appointment.I highly recommend Ariel and BCB for addressing any concerns you may have around breastfeeding. It feels so good to have knowledgeable people in your corner supporting you and your baby though this BF journey.

Mary was an amazing IBCLC. She spent hours listening, working with us, and consulting different resources to get our 4.5lb emergency C-section baby from his feeding tube, through a tie release procedure to a happy little guy who nursed until he was almost 2. She stayed in touch with us periodically even after we stopped seeing her regularly. I had such a great visit & experience with Mary, I am so glad I chose Bayou City! My experience was warm & not rushed, we spent the better of 2 hours together & she really got to know me & my baby. She checked things you’d expect your pedi to check but they don’t always. I’m having low supply issues & thought I had tried everything but Mary still gave me good information & things to try that I haven’t. We referred to bayou city when my daughter was 2 weeks old with a tongue and lip tie which was causing some breastfeeding issues, and I’m so grateful we were led to this group. Suzanne is incredible! She is beyond knowledgeable in this field and it shows. She cares so much for her patients and has helped us with learning how to properly nurse with ease. We started seeing Karen when my baby was 2 weeks old due to not gaining enough weight and a tongue tie, now my baby is almost 5 months, EBF and gaining like a champ! It was so hard and every week in the beginning I just made it my goal to get to my next lactation appointment. Karen was always so encouraging, kind and helpful. BCBL has been GREAT with us. As a first time mother, I was stressed and confused in regards to breastfeeding. Out of desperation I made an appointment request middle of the night. I was reached out promptly by BCBL with appointment arranged with Melissa C. She is the BEST! Tessa is a wealth of information and practical instruction. She provides evidenced based information while encouraging the mother's innate intuition. When 1st met with Tessa for a prenatal visit the week of our baby's due date, which set us up for success. Afterwards, we met with Tessa at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months (rough estimates). I cannot emphasize how helpful she is, especially as a first time mom & breastfeeder. If you're on the fence, just do it.

So extremely happy with the care, bedside manners, and patience with Karen Swan! I was hesitant when I first went because breastfeeding is an entire journey on its own. But after my 1st visit, I was so extremely happy and relieved I had someone who listened and helped me with this journey! Highly highly recommend this group for anyone needing help with breastfeeding. When I called to make an appointment, I was abt two days from throwing in the towel on breastfeeding. Being a first time mom, I was told by all of the other LCs that my latch looked good and I was fine even though I was in a lot of pain prior to calling bayou city. Britni was able to come in and quickly show me how to adjust things to be more comfortable for me and for baby. After helping me with latching, it was like night and day difference. I was more confident and comfortable, and the difference was instant. Not only did she help me with breastfeeding, but she also helped with my pump flange sizing, and showed my husband additional tips for bottle feeding, nothing felt rushed or dismissive, and I truly appreciated she was working around what worked for our life style, whether that was bf, bottles or both. I cannot recommend them and their team enough! My only regret was I didn’t have them come out prenatal as well!

Suzanne is wonderful. I had a lot of trauma related to becoming a mother, a lot of trauma from having to be induced and my son having to spend time in nicu, and a lot of fear of failure as a mom. she empowered me to make decisions, to build a healthy nursing relationship with my son, and continue breastfeeding beyond my minimum goal of a year. I don't think I could have done it without her-no judgment-meet you where you are- attitude and encouragement. My son overcame his tongue tie and gain issues and is a strong, healthy, taller than average, 2 year old.
Erica was FANTASTIC. Like, 5 star service for sure. She was personable, knowledgeable, and just all around wonderful. Will definitely call her again when/if I need help.The office .... well ... they’re a hot mess. Booked my appointment, removed it from the calendars, booked it again, lost it again, booked it a 3rd time and that finally stuck. Then they asked me to fill out intake paperwork twice. I paid for the home visit, and they tried to run my card a second time because they somehow couldn’t see that the charge had been processed, applied to my account, and a receipt had been auto-emailed to me? Thankfully my bank caught it as a suspicious charge and wouldn’t let them run it a second time more than a week after the first charge was applied and cleared.Don’t let the train wreck admin situation deter you - again - the visit with Erica was amazing and so very helpful. Just watch the office carefully and make sure you communicate well.

I think that the admin problems occurred for a couple of reasons, and I want to explain -- but understand this is not intended to be an excuse.We have recently brought on two new admins, and they are still learning the systems. The original appointment was created on the wrong day, and once the admin realized that error, instead of moving the appointment, she created a new appointment for you on the correct date. This is why you got two sets of forms, and also why we tried to bill you twice. I have discussed this with the Admin team to try to prevent it from happening in the future.One of the things we try to do is to give opportunities to stay at home moms to work on our admin team. This is one of the core principles of our organization -- giving opportunties to moms who wouldn't otherwise be able to work. Every member of our admin team works from home and has very young children. This, unfortunately, does result sometimes in us making mistakes that probably wouldn't have happened if we outsourced our administration/billing/scheduling to a third-party company. But each member of our admin team is being given the opportunity to learn skills that they can then take into the workforce once their children are older. So sometimes, when you call us, you may hear a crying baby (or toddlers) in the background, and things are sometimes chaotic. But giving these women this opportunity that they would not otherwise have is too important to us to give up.Again, we are sorry about the confusion and errors that were made with scheduling/billing your appointment, and please know that we appreciate your feedback and will try to do better in the future. I can’t say enough good things about Tessa and how much she has helped this first time mom. She has calmed my anxieties and taught me SO MUCH about breastfeeding, positions, baby’s tongue movement, and body work. Her referral to our pediatric dentist and instructions after our tongue tie release has greatly healed my baby. Moreso, she’s so prompt with messages and will fit me in her schedule when I’m in a pinch. Our appointments are never rushed, and time just flies by in the most wonderful way. I truly never thought how much I’d need a lactation counselor as someone who’s been working with pregnant moms and moms with babies for years, but my baby isn’t even three months yet and we’ve visited her twice a month. She keeps the atmosphere super zen and uplifting. I’d go in ready to cry, end up laughing, and leave excited to implement the recommendations she’s made. Her depth of knowledge, expertise, and passion is evident. My infant always seems happier, physically relaxed, and her latch progresses so much after our visits with Tessa. I am so thankful for home visits during this time (pandemic). Bayou City Breastfeeding as a company did great as a company to make sure we were safe. Asked us for temperatures prior to letting our LC come into our home. When she arrived she immediately washed her hand and was wearing a mask. I absolutely love Tiphany! Karen was absolutely wonderful! Without all her help and support I would have quit nursing. My baby had tongue and lip tie, with her guidance we were able to correct that and now we nurse with ease! I can’t thank her enough!
Suzanne has been immensely helpful for both of my children. I would not have been able to breastfeed my firstborn without her depth of knowledge, patience, and connections to other providers in the greater Houston area and knowledge as to which providers would be most skilled in working with the specific needs we had. She was even able to help us identify some non-breastfeeding medical issues that we were able to address early in my son’s life because of her wide base of knowledge and attentiveness. Beyond breastfeeding, she was also able to help us create a plan for introducing solids that was tailored to helping us avoid the abundant food allergies that are prevalent in our family. I am confident that our children’s health will be better long-term on multiple fronts as a result of the guidance we received from Suzanne.

Melissa Carrera was a wonderful support system during my breastfeeding journey. My initial goal was 100% breastfeeding; however, my baby had lost over 10% of his weight by his first pediatrician appointment so we immediately started supplementing with formula and pumped milk. I was initially sad and felt guilty that breastfeeding was not working but Melissa reassured me that breastfeeding did not have to be an all or nothing process. I faced several setbacks such as thrush, mastitis, several clogged ducts and Melissa provided me with the tools and emotional support to get through all of those issues when I felt like wanting to quit several times. She answered my messages at odd hours in the night and on weekends. Her presence is extremely calming, nurturing, and supportive. My baby is now 4 months old and I am on a sustainable pumping schedule with the occasional formula supplementation and I could not have done it without Melissa’s support!

Working with Suzanne at Bayou City Breastfeeding saved our breastfeeding journey. Suzanne helped to diagnose a tongue and lip tie in our infant daughter and outlined each of the steps needed to correct the ties. We have seen an improvement in latch, transfer of milk, time spent feeding and so much more.
In addition to the ties, Suzanne helped me as mom to get my milk supply back after it dropped drastically due to a poor latch. Suzanne outlined the steps needed for feedings and pumping, suggested supplements and vitamins to ensure I was giving my body the best chance to produce milk and most importantly was a huge emotional support throughout the process.

Bayou City Breastfeeding, Mary in particular, have been incredible. I called during a time of desperation, with a week old baby and no clue how hard breastfeeding was going to be. Suzanne answered my call on a Friday, listened to me and gave me tips on the phone and set me up with an appointment with Mary the next day. Since then, our breastfeeding journey has made a 180. Mary not only is incredibly compassionate and kind, she is extremely knowledgeable. She made us feel comfortable, informed and empowered. She has become such an integral part of our breastfeeding journey, and I credit so much our success (and sanity) to her. She started as a lactation consultant, but now is a dear friend. They say it takes a village, and I am so glad that Bayou City Breastfeeding is part of ours.

Karen was super helpful in giving me tips on how to become better at breastfeeding and bottle feeding my newborn. I highly recommend Bayou City Breastfeeding. Suzanne was fantastic and put a lot of my worries at ease. My breastfeeding journey started off well, but we struggled with a few minor latch issues. The biggest thing I learned was that a one size fits all approach is not the way to go about breastfeeding, and Suzanne gave me so many tools that helped for my own experience and situation. I didn’t know how much there was to know about breastfeeding until I met with Suzanne!
This place is a dream!! My lactation consultant is Erica!! she’s simply a doll very knowledgeable and patient with me. On the first visit we established goals and how to meet them let alone making sure baby has a great latch!! Between visits I’m able to reach out to Erica for more support via app and that has also became sooooo helpful!! I highly recommend this place let alone I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ERICA if anyone need a lactation consultant.
Suzanne was absolutely amazing. She spent 3 hours with us, asking questions and observing our sons behaviors and techniques. She explained every observation and recommendations in detail. She was patient, insightful and so knowledgeable around lactation. I wish we knew of Suzanne and her practice with our first child and earlier with our second. Surely if we have more kids, they will be going to see Suzanne from the start!

I saw basically everyone in the magnolia office because of my scheduling and they’re all incredibly helpful.I’m a first time mom and my baby had to have a mouth procedure. These ladies. Helped me navigate how to best help her and heal her mouth!Additionally, I am an over supplier and get frequent clogged milk ducts, they were able to teach me how to work through this!

Little late posting my review but better late than never!I first saw Nicole on 1/1 of this year and due to previous experiences at a different business, I was skeptical but wanted to try for my newborn since I was only producing an ounce or two a day. Nicole was absolutely AMAZING! She listened to my rambling and understood my concerns. Unlike the previous consultant, Nicole actually examined me and explained that it wasn't my fault I wasn't producing as much as I wanted. She gave me options to try to increase my supply but also set expectations that I would have to still supplement due to my condition. She helped me rid of the guilt I felt because I thought I wasn't doing enough.After a few more visits, a massive drop in supply (thanks to my body), and a good cry in Nicole's office, I decided my breastfeeding journey was over. She was completely supportive and advocated for myself and my baby. She also explained to me the benefits of still latching even though I didn't really have supply.I highly recommend Nicole and this entire company!! They will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of, that you understand everything, and they aren't going to overwhelm you.

If you go to this location, then you definitely need to work with RN Karen. She is simply the best! My family and I are full of appreciation, gratitude, and respect. If it was not for Nurse Karen, we would not have found out my son's tongue and cheek ties. I wish I could have met her earlier, but since we worked with her (my son was 5 months old), we learned a lot from her and our lives greatly improved because of her help and dedication. She is helpful, resourceful, passionate, kind, and nice. I cannot find words to tell you how awesome she is and Bayou City because they hire professional people. Bayou city (Mary and Amy) have been such a blessing to me while breastfeeding my third. This time around I was met with clogs and mastitis multiple times. Be able to meet with Mary and have her help and support was a huge help to my mental well being. Being able to send a message when I had a concern and knowing a response would be received in a timely manner helped ease my mind. From checking my pump settings, helping me reduce clogs and ultimately supporting me in making my plan to wean, they have provided me with the support I’ve needed every step of the way! Ariel was outstanding! She was personable, informative, responsive via all communication channels and reassuring which meant a lot to me as a first time mom. Her personality was so refreshing! After many other appointment types throughout pregnancy at different facilities I can honestly say Ariel here at Bayou City BF is the best of the best. She’s not cold in delivering the info and she made I and my husband feel right at home. She was a breath of fresh air and I and my husband agreed that she felt like a God send and trust me he is NOT an easy sell. I felt a giant weight lift off my shoulders after leaving the appointment knowing that we will figure whatever may come out. 10 out of 10, HIGHLY recommend!

I would absolutely recommend working with Kyna! I was unsure what to expect as I was able to feed my baby but we had some issues with gas and over production. Kyna showed me some great tricks and some of the daily exercises have seemed to make a huge difference.

We are grateful that Suzanne was able to make a home visit to evaluate my son's lip/tongue tie in the middle of a pandemic. She came highly recommended by our baby doula and our son's dentist's office. First of all, Suzanne understood our worries about COVID-19 and did everything she could to put our minds at ease and to keep us and our baby safe by being transparent about their cleaning protocols and by following very strict home visit protocols (reporting temperatures, masks on, gloves on, social distancing, hand washing, and diligently disinfecting equipments, etc). I would not have put my trust on anyone else to come in to our home at this time. During the visit, she was very thorough in taking my son's history, from birth up until now, and doing a complete physical evaluation from head to toe. Given her background and experience, she was able to identify additional issues quickly and make recommendations in order to avoid invasive procedures in the future. When the issue was not within her scope of practice, she immediately identified pertinent help for us to mitigate the issue. She followed up with us via email and text to make sure our questions were answered. She was extremely efficient, straightforward, and thoughtful, which is exactly the qualities we looked for in healthcare provider. We very much have enjoyed our visit with Suzanne and so did my 13-week old son!

I am so grateful for Bayou City LC! I was having major pain from what I thought was a clogged duct. Even though it was a Sunday they called me and it turned out I have mastitis. I was able to have the consultation with Suzanne for recommendations, meet with my doctor and get a prescription all within 2 hours. ON A SUNDAY! They are genuinely caring and there to help. I don't know what I would do without them. Biggest thanks to Amanda for getting me on the books and Suzanne for taking time with me on a weekend. Bayou City Breastfeeding has saved my family twice. After two kids with significant weight loss and tongue ties, we wouldn’t be where we are if not for Suzanne and her team. Just last week after our newborn had lost a concerning amount of weight in just a couple days after birth, Suzanne worked us in for a visit to check on him and then helped to get us in for an urgent visit with the dentist for a tongue tie release. I am on my third baby and all of them have had tongue ties and lip ties. It wasn’t an easy process at all. The dentist that did my second daughters tongue tie reversion did a great job with giving me information and how it effects everything your body does but there was no work a head of time and only 1 follow up appointment. Because of COVID I didn’t know what to do about my baby boy hurting me while nursing. A friend told me to look at bayou city breastfeeding so I made an appointment and man has it changed my life! Not only do they take insurance which is amazing, but the knowledge that they have is abundant! Also it is so so easy to get in contact because you can text at anytime and you will receive a response pretty quick! If all that wasn’t enough they are there for every step of the way to make sure you are ready for the procedure to going with you to the appointment and then follow ups! I truly am so thankful for bayou city breastfeeding. They help you with way more then just getting your child to latch properly! They want both the baby and mother are happy and healthy. I would refer anyone and everyone to them!

My 4 month old and I are extremely grateful for all the information and training we received from a home visit with Tiphany. I came here to try to induce lactation after we adopted our son. Mandy helped me get a supply going, and also answered my myriad questions about caring for our first baby. We also did bodywork here to address his tension and help with painful latching. Highly recommend coming here for any breastfeeding needs!

Went for my first appointment here as a prenatal to get prepared. I now know how to use all the devices I got for self care and breast feeding. I feel more confident I will be better prepared. They even show you how to hold your baby and to get then to latch! I wanted more then what the newborn class I had to take had and I got it. It's also in a brand new building!

Bayou City Breastfeeding is fabulous. They are great at scheduling quickly and efficiently. Kathy was such a blessing and joy to work with, and I really appreciated all of the follow up material she sent after our sessions. Tessa is magical and we were so impressed with the Bodywork sessions my son had with her. Kathy and Tessa were able to help us with the decision to have our son's lip and tongue tie corrected, as well as prep him beforehand and ensure we did everything we needed to after it. After the birth of my first child in 2018 I naively thought that my child and I would know how to breastfeed and it would come naturally. Well the first month of his life he struggled to gain weight. So I looked for a lactation consultant covered by Aetna and found Bayou City Breastfeeding. I was consulted by Tessa Gardin. Looking back I wish I would have found Tessa sooner because she provided so much useful information. She is the reason I took my son to a chiropractor for cranio sacral adjustments and he was able to latch better. She is also the reason my milk output doubled and I was able to breastfeed until 11 months. After my second child was born on July 2020 I knew that I needed appointments with an LC right away. My daughter struggled with latch on my left breast, was biting my nipples and preferred to turn her head to her left side. So I saw Suzanne Juel 3 days after the birth. Suzanne is equally as helpful as Tessa and provided a lot of educational resources and diagrams that illustrated breastfeeding, milk production, and foods that increase milk supply. Suzanne showed me some alternate feeding positions that I use now since they are more comfortable. Suzanne recommended that my daughter get chiropractic adjustments. I took my daughter to a chiropractor and the adjustments improved her alignment significantly. Now my daughter does not have any latch issues, she is able to remove all the milk out on her own and she is no longer biting. She has exceeded the required weight gain for her age.

Mary was such a wonderful asset for us! She spent so much time explaining in detail and giving helpful solutions and exercises to get us on the right track. This is our second baby with Bayou City Breastfeeding. Our first had many complicated issues so this time I wanted to be prepared. Suzanne helped me get everything in line when I was still pregnant so we would be prepared. Although we are facing some of the same issues (ties), this time has been much easier to deal with because we started with such a knowledgeable IBCLC. Her scope of knowledge is unmatched. I’m fighting an infection in my incision and she knew whether or not the meds prescribed were safe for breastfeeding. I also lost a lot of blood during delivery which caused low iron which could have caused low milk supply so she recommended some supplements right away.In general, her knowledge is unmatched. The way she cares for moms is unbelievable. I only wish I would have known her for all of our kids.

I have used Jessica from Bayou City Breastfeeding now for both of my children. She was instrumental in making sure that we were successful in breastfeeding, allowing me to get off to a good start with my second and to nurse for close to two years with my first. Dana at Bayou City Breastfeeding is the best! My baby girl and I were nursing well until she was around 7 weeks old and things seemed to unravel. I’ve had several appointments with Dana now and each time she is a calming and encouraging voice. Each time I’m learning how I can help make things easier for my child’s nursing journey. I am so thankful that I was referred to BCB from a pediatric dentist in the area. He recommended that I visit the Kingwood office for a combo visit which includes ~ body work (with a chiropractor) and also a session with the lactation consultant. My daughter who was scheduled to have her oral restriction (tongue tie) remediated demonstrated a painful latch, weight loss at 10%, etc. After several combo visits and some lactation only visits, we fell into a groove with nursing and at 3 months we have not had to follow through with the remediation surgery. I highly recommend BCB. All of their staff is phenomenal.

Had a home visit during COVID...the LC that came was wearing a mask and was disinfecting everything which was a bonus! She corrected my baby’s latch in the first try and it was a game changer! I didn’t realize I wasn’t doing it right! She gave me some exercises to help with my baby’s minor tongue tie which I appreciated vs going straight to the operation route. We are 7 weeks now and things are great! Baby’s latch is strong and she is gaining weight. I was hating breast feeding before...now I’m loving it!

Let me just say, that these ladies are all amazing! My regular consultant is out on leave, but the other consultants have worked together to accommodate me so they I can continue to get the lactation support I need. I've had the pleasure to work with about 5 of the consultants at the company, and each one brings something different yet equally great as the others. I love that they treat you like family.

I was extremely happy with the experience I had with Ali with Bayou City Breastfeeding! She came to my home in Montgomery, TX to evaluate my 2 week old baby and me. I was having difficulties with breastfeeding, and Ali was able to identify my baby’s issue almost immediately. She helped us come up with a plan to help with the issue, helped me navigate my breast pump, and gave us tips to make our feeding experience as good as possible. Ali was so sweet and made us feel very comfortable- not to mention, very knowledgeable! The communication from start to finish with all the staff was also great! Highly recommend!

I am so thankful that we were referred here and that we could get the help we needed with breastfeeding! I came at 1 week postpartum and my baby had lost a little too much weight for our pediatrician’s liking so we had to supplement with formula. Upon going to the consultation Amy was able to tell that he has a lip tie and a lot of tension in his body that made nursing more difficult for him and me. She guided us through a nursing session and helped to get a good latch along with a comfortable position for us and then assessed his weight gain. She showed us a better way to bottle feed a breastfed baby and also taught me how to use my pump correctly to increase my supply. I also really loved that she gave us exercises to help relax his mouth and face as well as suggested bodywork to see if his lip tie will correct itself! I would highly recommend any breastfeeding mom to go as soon as you can after birth, and while breastfeeding is hard work it can be made so much easier when you get quality help from an LC! We can’t wait for our follow up visit to see how it is improving!

Brandy, Suzanne and the team are amazing! They came to our rescue when our 2 weeks old baby was in dire need of help. I am a first time mom, so as you can imagine I had a ton of questions related to breastfeeding once I left the hospital. I felt like my little one’s latch was weak and that I wasn’t producing enough milk because of it. That same day I called BCB and spoke to Suzanne over the phone. She was amazing at getting my husband and I set up for in home visits. Not only that, but she scheduled a video call that day so she could assist me in the meantime. We were able to establish a strong latch so that my baby could get nutrition before our in home visit. Fast forward a few days and Tiphany came over. She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us some exercises to do with our baby and showed me several techniques to secure a good latch. I feel so much better knowing that my baby is getting what she needs thanks to BCB! Y’all rock!

Suzanne and everyone who works at Bayou City are literal angels on earth. Suzanne has especially saved my breastfeeding journey with my son who has a tounge-tie. Before finding Suzanne, I was so close to giving up as I was dealing with moderate under-supply too so I felt like I wouldn't be able to make it seeing how much I was able to pump in a day. I first saw Suzanne when my son was around 5 weeks and again when he was a little over 2 months. She was the one who suspected that my baby had a tounge-tie (hard to latch, painful latch etc) and suggested that frenotomy procedure could help. Suzanne and her team was with us every step of the way. I won't lie that the after-care was stressful but we went through it and guess what, my baby is almost 6 months now and our breastfeeding journey is going strong. It really feels like a miracle. She has given us tounge exercises to do at home (I still do it now at less frequency!), tips and tricks for bottle-feeding and even baby-led weaning (and I was dealing with mastitis too in between and they have tips and tricks that could help!)The only regret I have now is not seeing Suzanne sooner (and educating myself prior to delivery around breastfeeding because wow it is hard!) but I am so happy that the stars aligned and at the end, I made an effort to see Suzanne. I highly recommend seeing them as your priority if you are looking for a lactation consultant! Their expertise is worth of gold. Thank you thank you thank you!

I’m a first time mom and don’t really know what I’m doing as far as breastfeeding so I scheduled an appointment just to see what they had to say and after a 2 hour appointment I learned so much. More than I even knew to ask. They cover a lot more than just latching and scheduling and the very basics that I was expecting. I have so much more confidence in my breastfeeding journey and just motherhood as a whole now that I have them by my side

I am so grateful for Nicole and all of her guidance, validation and direction! She is such an asset to the LC community with her knowledge & expertise! Breastfeeding is such an emotional journey and I’m glad to have found Bayou City Breastfeeding to have put me on the right track! Having 1-on-1 guidance outside of the hospital was extremely important to me for numerous reasons. The appointments are 100% worth the time, energy, and effort to get any momma dedicated to her feeding journey!
The ladies (Karen & Suzanne) at Bayou City Breastfeeding have been a godsend. They immediately made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They’ve taught me SO much about breastfeeding that I had no idea about, despite all of my “internet research”. My son had a tongue/lip tie revision that reattached. I’m amazed by the work they put in to work with the pediatric dentist and the family to provide the best care for the best outcome.. without them my sons tie would still be reattached & we’d be right back at square one. I also have to say, Suzanne works so hard with making sure families can afford lactation services from providing the grant program to working with insurance companies. My family cannot say thank you enough to these ladies for helping with our breastfeeding journey.
I wish I could give Melissa 10 out of 10 stars. She was absolutely amazing. This is my first LC visit I've had out of all 5 of my children, and I wish so much that I would've gone to her with my first baby when she was a premie and with all of mine babies. So thorough, didn't rush the visit, was SO sweet to my baby, and overall great experience! From nursing, latching, pumping, going back to work, and covering issues related to her tongue & lip tie she helped with all of it. She is so knowledgeable about her work. As a first time parents my partner and I were struggling with breastfeeding. Bayou city was recommended by our midwife and they have done an amazing job helping us adjust. They answer all questions and provide excellent education on how to properly breastfeed, how to utilize the pump effectively, and how much to feed etc. They help you come up with a feeding plan every time we have met. I had my visits scheduled with Britni, she was great. She is very knowledgeable and has tact in her interaction with both mom and baby.She helped me on my first week with my newborn, and then had a follow up visit. Tessa came for a home visit and was extremely knowledgeable. She was able to assess the amount of milk taken during the nursing session, provide some guidance and help on latching and give some personal feedbacks on milk supply and pump settings. I really enjoyed the first session and I am already planning to do another one to see the progress.

Loved my experience at BCB with Suzanne. I knew before giving birth I would see a lactation consultant for the best breastfeeding journey possible, even without apparent “problems.” Suzanne kept a super clean space and helped me with proper latch technique, engorgement, gave us exercises for my son’s many oral ties to hopefully avoid issues in the future, and made sure of my well-being as a woman. My son was having so much trouble taking a binky and just kept choking while nursing. Mandy with Bayou City seriously was a life saver for us! Not only did she catch that my son was severely tied up but that he was having some reflux and jaw issues too. Bayou City was able to get us referred to a great pediatric dentist and chiropractor and got us into the therapies we needed and everything flowed between the 3 offices so well. The support that Mandy gave during our 10 weeks with her was amazing! I was sad when she said our time was up and that my son didn’t need her help anymore. She gave so much support to him and I during this time! I can’t recommend them enough!
Kathy was great from my prenatal lactation visit through the first couple months of birth with my baby. She was so informative and helped navigate through some breastfeeding issues I was having. I highly recommend BCBLC.

Mary was a great help with my breastfeeding journey. She is amazing with children and very knowledgeable.My journey was a bumpy one because I didn’t have the birth plan I wanted and struggled with supply.Mary tried every path in a methodical way so we knew what worked.Although we did not get to the point of exclusive breastfeeding I definitely learned a lot and able to give my child as much as I can provide while supplementing with formula.As a first time mom, we realize quickly that breastfeeding is not that easy for you or baby and learning tips and tricks on positioning and how to get baby nutrition is a learning process.I am thankful for Bayou for helping me though the process.I was also able to share what I learned with other moms and will be able to help my daughter one day.

I cannot express how wonderful of an experience I had with Bayou City Breastfeeding and my lactation consultant, Mary. I met with Mary prior to having my daughter and met with her regularly over the first 4 months since she was born. We tackled together a tongue and lip tie prior to and post-surgery, along with latching and supply issues. Mary is kind and always made me feel extremely comfortable at our visits. She spent so much time with us asking all the necessary questions, showing and suggesting different techniques to use and seeing how much my daughter was being fed. We miss seeing her and thank her so much for all of the help she provided to us.
