Melissa at Alamo Breastfeeding has been a saint in helping support my breastfeeding journey. TLDR she’s helped improve how we nurse which has helped my baby grow dramatically. When we struggled with bottle feeding when I started back to work, she was able to see me within 48 hours to help remedy the situation. I started seeing her when my child weighed in 39% at his 2 month appointment. My pediatrician was not concerned however I didn’t like the downward trend (was 75% at birth). A friend recommended I come here after sharing worries over it and I’m so glad I did. Melissa diagnosed several oral ties and showed me stretches to do to improve my baby’s oral function. She also helped me figure out a better position to hold him in and instructed me to nurse on both sides per feed (I was previously told to only do one). Within two months his weight has shot up and overall latch has improved dramatically. We also have been doing combo visits with the nest and overall my child has had much better range of motion and less tension which has helped with nursing. More recently, I was having a hard time getting my child to take a bottle. I was able to be seen quickly and we figured it out and overall it just gave me so much more peace of mind. Also worth noting we’ve been able to have very frank conversations about oral ties and she was very respectful and supportive of my choices for treatment. My biggest regret is not coming here when I struggled breastfeeding my first child. If your gut is telling you something is off, come be seen by Melissa. You’ll be so glad you did.
Bayou City Breastfeeding taught me so much and really kept my goal of breastfeeding realistic. We worked through triple feeding, supply issues, tethers/ties (pre and post release), and pumping. I truly could not have done it without Jen! She’s such a blessing and so easy to work with. I’m so happy that I was able to get in quickly when I was having latch issues right after leaving the hospital. I will recommend to any future moms and know I’ll be back for any future kid(s) we might have.
Katelyn is so sweet! This was my second time working with her. She identified our issues quickly and got us on the right track with some easy home excercises. Ultimately we made the choice to revise a tongue tie but we couldn't have done it without her support.
Ali was my lactation specialist and from the first consult she gave me so much peace of mind and feed back in my BFing journey. And any questions I had even after she stayed in touch and helped me through. I would recommend her to any mom who is considering breastfeeding and needing someone who is like your best friend to walk you through. Thank you Ali and BCB!
I absolutely love Brandy! We have seen her for 3 of our kids and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Her expertise is unmatched and she genuinely wants to help 🩷🩷🩷
