Donique, the lactation consultant at Bayou City Breastfeeding, has been an absolute lifeline for me as a first-time mother navigating the complexities of breastfeeding. Her expertise and compassionate approach were instrumental in addressing multiple challenges my baby and I faced, including tongue tie, lip tie, reflux issues, milk supply concerns, and learning effective pumping techniques. Donique's deep understanding of lactation issues was evident from our very first session, where she patiently explained the impact of tongue and lip ties on breastfeeding and devised a comprehensive plan for treatment.

Even with the online classes I was struggling to breastfeed. I’m so glad I contacted Bayou City breastfeeding. Katelyn was fantastic she sat down with us and looked at all the obstacles we’ve been battling and we came up with a plan that hopefully works for us.

Little late posting my review but better late than never!
I first saw Nicole on 1/1 of this year and due to previous experiences at a different business, I was skeptical but wanted to try for my newborn since I was only producing an ounce or two a day. Nicole was absolutely AMAZING! She listened to my rambling and understood my concerns. Unlike the previous consultant, Nicole actually examined me and explained that it wasn't my fault I wasn't producing as much as I wanted. She gave me options to try to increase my supply but also set expectations that I would have to still supplement due to my condition. She helped me rid of the guilt I felt because I thought I wasn't doing enough.
After a few more visits, a massive drop in supply (thanks to my body), and a good cry in Nicole's office, I decided my breastfeeding journey was over. She was completely supportive and advocated for myself and my baby. She also explained to me the benefits of still latching even though I didn't really have supply.
I highly recommend Nicole and this entire company!! They will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of, that you understand everything, and they aren't going to overwhelm you.

WORTH IT. Time, money, everything. Book the appointment.

Being in the newborn trenches for a third time and two successful prior breastfeeding experiences, I debated on scheduling an appointment. My primary concern was over-active letdown and pump fitting. Wasn’t sure I’d learn much more than I already knew or could google. Incorrect. I saw Kathy Lenert, an absolute wealth of information. I was impressed at her ability to teach, be hands on, and remember all of my needs. Was given extensive after-visit summary, which I appreciated. Truly wish I had seen her with all my kids.

Practical tips: Bring a helper and TAKE NOTES. I learned so so much. Parking is easy. Elevator is a bit small if you have a monster (large) stroller - but should fit. Will not fit more than two people and a stroller though.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. I knew about lactation consultants before I had my baby, but didn't book them until after I was struggling in the first few days. My IBCLC took time out of her weekend to meet me on a Saturday and it changed everything. I was a much happier new mom thanks to the coaching, support, and cheerleading I received from Brandi. If you’re on the fence if you can breastfeed, I would absolutely make an appointment here first. It may seem overwhelming but having someone guide you and give you advice along the way will be so helpful.

Katelyn helped me through SO much! I learned how to nurse my baby and pump better and more efficiently. I gained so much confidence in my abilities to feed by baby thanks to her guidance. Especially during the early postpartum days.

My daughter also has reflux and Katelyn helped me work on things to improve this and help keep my baby comfortable as well.

I’m now off of maternity leave and had to begin traveling for work..Katelyn helped me with so many things to prepare for being away from my baby so I could have a supply at home. She also helped me work out options to pump on the go conveniently and with ease. It was a breeze when I traveled for work thanks to her help!

I owe so much of my successful breastfeeding journey to Katelyn. I am so grateful that my baby is 6mths old and we are still breastfeeding, even as a working mom!

Katelyn did our at home consultation and she was amazing. She reassured us on what we’re doing right and helped me relieve doubts I had with breastfeeding. She answered all our questions. She sends a care plan after the visit with everything we talked about with more resources. She’s very responsive through the app and text. If you’re wondering if you should book a consultation, you will not regret it. This is a great resource to have as a new mom.

Suzanne is truly amazing!!!! She is honest and Knowledgeable. My baby suffered from tongue tie and cheek ties. She helped my baby and I through the breastfeeding process. I learned so much from her. She’s a blessing to mothers, parents and babies!
