I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! As a first time mom, everything can be so overwhelming especially breastfeeding. I was recommended to get a consult here by a friend before I even gave birth and I’m so glad I did! It helped me know what to expect and prepare for my breastfeeding journey. The hospital I gave birth at does provide lactation services however I found them to be severely lacking. I needed some major help and I was able to schedule a home visit with Mandy very quickly after giving birth. I would have been so lost without her! She is marvelous! She is incredibly knowledgeable and so sweet with my baby. She really takes her time to answer all your questions and is just amazing at what she does! It’s been three-ish months now and things have drastically improved from the beginning and I now feel confident in feeding my baby. I am so grateful to Mandy and Bayou City for their services. Aside from the actual lactation service - the billing and scheduling team are very responsive and communicate very well. I had issues with my insurance and Rebecca with billing took the time to answer all my questions and get it sorted. Everyone I’ve come in contact with is very knowledgeable and good at what they do - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I cannot say enough about this company and Joanna Patane-Hopkins. I was a new mom with a 3 day old that was struggling to latch and absolutely worried to death because my milk hadn’t come in. We made an appt with Joanna and literally within minutes during the first session I felt more at ease and was able to have my baby latch for the first time since discharging from the hospital. We felt heard and supported with OUR goals and anytime we had questions or concerns (all the time) she was there to guide and reassure us. There is not a single second in my breastfeeding journey that would have been possible without her help. She’s the reason I’ve been able to breastfeed my son for over 7 months now (even as a working mom). If you’re debating on whether to get a lactation consultant, don’t think twice.

Can't recommend Bayou City Breastfeeding enough. Video triage visits are available if in-person visit availability is lagging. In-person visits are not rushed (90 min) with pre- and post-feeding weights of baby to ensure transfer. I learned an immense amount from my LC that completely changed my approach to breastfeeding, helped my baby increase milk transfer with less painful latch, assisted us with changing bottle nipples to address issues we were having, and eased my anxiety. Easy to communicate with staff via text message. Billing department is also very responsive and ensures complete understanding of expected insurance coverage (my visits to date have been 100% covered by UHC).

I was able to get a virtual appointment within 48hrs of my request to get advice on my recent bout with mastitis. My consultant, Suzanne, quickly identified the likely culprit and gave some advice moving forward that was so helpful!! I would highly recommend!
