Policies for Clients With Tricare Insurance

Bayou City Breastfeeding is not in network with Tricare however some of our providers are authorized to see Tricare patients.

An in network provider has a contract with your insurance company and agrees to provide services at a contracted rate, which is usually discounted. An out of network (authorized) provider does not have a contract with your insurance company and may charge any rate for their services. Some plans cover out of network providers and others require you to see an in network provider. 

For our Tricare patients, lactation is not covered for infants. This means we will only be billing on mom. If your baby has another insurance (other than Tricare) that we can bill, we will also bill on baby. Please provide insurance information for both of you. 

There is a $15 co pay charged per appointment. Additionally, if your plan requires a referral and one is not obtained prior to your appointment, you will be billed at our discounted cash pay rates. 

For our Tricare patients, we do not offer home visits at this time. 

Tricare East (Standard) patients do not require a referral for your initial 6 visits. After the 6th visit, you will be transitioned to cash pay unless you have an authorization approved for more visits. Not having this authorization to us prior to your 7th visit will result in the visit being cancelled and a cancellation fee charged. 

There are some fees that are not covered by insurance, regardless of your plan. If we know that a fee will not be covered, this fee will be billed to the patient. Examples of non- covered services include but are not limited to: 
        * Home Visit Travel Fee ($70)
        * Late Cancellation/ No Show Fee

We require that all patients have a valid card on file to secure the booking of their initial visit. We will not schedule your appointment without having a valid card on file. 

* You are authorizing us to save the card on file and use it to process the following fees: 

• Late cancellation / no show fees
• Home Visit Travel Fee
• Copay/ Coinsurance / Deductible
• Non covered / denied services
• Non covered patient fee for mom or baby who does not have billable insurance
